CottonConnect has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh’s Cotton Development Board (CDB) to improve the quality, sustainability, and traceability of Bangladeshi cotton. The partnership aims to integrate these improvements into the country’s globally renowned clothing and textile industry.
The collaboration will leverage CottonConnect’s expertise in sustainable cotton supply chains and CDB’s experience in cotton research and development, supporting approximately 60,000 cotton farmers across 39 districts. Joint initiatives will include technological knowledge transfer, professional training, and implementation of traceability systems.
Key objectives of the partnership include enhancing cotton fibre quality, promoting regenerative farming practices, improving worker conditions, building a traceable supply chain, and expanding cotton use into high-value products such as medical textiles and bio-composites. The collaboration will also focus on climate-resilient farming systems and long-term adaptation strategies.
