The United Arab Emirates (UAE), one of the world’s fastest-growing economic and tourism hubs, has announced four new visit visa categories aimed at facilitating entry for skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, and international visitors. These visas are designed to attract global talent, support the business and entertainment sectors, and boost the tourism industry.
Overview of the New Visa Categories:
AI Specialist Visa
Designed for professionals and experts in artificial intelligence, robotics, and related technology fields. This visa is valid for single or multiple entries. Applicants must obtain a sponsorship letter from a recognized technology or research institution.
Entertainment Visa
Targeted at artists and performers, this short-term visa allows entry for cultural or entertainment events such as film shoots, stage plays, music performances, or temporary art exhibitions. A registered entertainment organization or sponsor is required.
Event Visa
For participation in conferences, exhibitions, festivals, or sports events. Applicants must provide official event documentation and an invitation letter. Sponsorship can come from the event organizer or a company.
Cruise and Leisure Boat Visa
Applicable for international travelers arriving in the UAE via cruise ships or yachts. Multiple entries are allowed during the visit, and a licensed tour operator must act as a guarantor.
Other Key Visa Updates:
Single and multiple entry visas for foreign truck drivers have been introduced.
Sponsorship requirements for residents hosting relatives or friends have been updated with income-based criteria.
Business visit visas now require applicants to demonstrate financial stability and relevant professional experience.
A one-year humanitarian visa has been launched for foreigners affected by war, disasters, or political unrest.
Foreign widows or divorced women married to UAE citizens can now reside in the UAE without a sponsor, subject to financial stability and housing requirements.
The new visa categories are expected to facilitate international talent, strengthen business, entertainment, and tourism sectors, and enhance the UAE’s global competitiveness. They also aim to address humanitarian and economic needs for residents and visitors alike.
